Our last post here on our Denver Personal Injury Law Blog raised a particularly difficult and painful scenario. What happens when a hit-and-run driver gets away after a motor vehicle accident?
Fortunately, the suspect in that post was eventually caught. We say “fortunately” because without knowing at least the identity of the driver in such an accident, victims and their family members will find it much more difficult to obtain compensation for their losses through a personal injury or wrongful death suit. Uninsured motorist coverage can help with financial support to a certain extent, but not to the level that a jury can award in a lawsuit.
That’s not to say that all is hopeless if you or a loved one has fallen victim to a hit-and-run driver. The professionals at the Law Offices of W. Dan Mahoney, P.C., know the strategies most likely to yield success in developing your case. For example, we can work with the police in gathering evidence; sometimes video surveillance from a parking lot or store front may have captured the accident and can even help track down the hit-and-run driver.
It is important to consult with us as soon after the accident as you are able. We do understand that you will have multiple interactions with medical providers, the police, and insurance companies to try to manage during what is already a vulnerable time, emotionally and physically. With representation by the Law Offices of W. Dan Mahoney, P.C., you know that you will have an experienced professional on your side who knows the ins and outs of the process — and you will have the peace of mind that comes from knowing that we receive no compensation for our services unless you win compensation for your losses.
