Alleged intoxicated, speeding driver causes crash with fatality

Drivers in Denver are functioning under the belief that other drivers will adhere to the rules of the road and make every effort to maintain safety for themselves and everyone around them. That includes driving sober, paying attention to the road in front of them and obeying traffic signals and speed limits. Unfortunately, people suffer serious injuries and death on a regular basis because drivers decide to break the law. When there is a car accident, those who have been injured or lost a loved one must be cognizant of their right to seek compensation in a legal filing to hold a negligent or reckless party responsible.

An alleged drunk and speeding driver crashed into the back of another vehicle leading to the death of the driver of that vehicle and injuring another person. The incident happened in the afternoon. A woman, 25, had stopped her vehicle at a red light. A vehicle driven by a 47-year-old man rear-ended the woman's car.

The impact sent her vehicle into the intersection where it was hit again. There was a total of five vehicles in the accident. In their initial investigation, law enforcement believes the 47-year-old was intoxicated and deemed him at fault. He was hospitalized, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing.

Any motor vehicle accident can be damaging in myriad ways. People who have been hurt could lose time on the job, face enormous medical costs, have issues returning to normal and face a drastically changed life. Families who have lost a loved one will be faced with the loss of companionship, contributions and the emotional aftermath of an unexpected death. What makes these accidents worse is when a person is simply minding his or her own business and a driver who is believed to have been intoxicated crashes into them out of nowhere and causes a death. While a legal filing will not bring the person back, it can help with some semblance of closure in holding the offending party responsible.

A woman was rear-ended and sent into the intersection where her vehicle was hit again. She died. The driver of the vehicle that hit her the first time did so when he was apparently under the influence. While the investigation is conducted, it is wise for her family to make certain they have someone on their side and looking out for their interests. Calling a law firm experienced in helping those who have been harmed by a drunk driving accident can be one of the key steps toward a lawsuit.
